For a third year in a row, the Australian Grand Prix was seemingly under threat, as due to the current issues with transportation, there was a risk of certain teams not receiving their cargo for the race. Luckily, DHL stepped in in time, to take the freight off a ship, which could have potentially been a week or two late, and take it by plane to Melbourne last weekend instead. These issues have been seen elsewhere, as MotoGP had to miss Friday running in Argentina, due to delayed cargo.
Last week it was announced that a third Grand Prix in America would occur in 2023, at Las Vegas. The track will be on the streets of the city, and incorporate some well known sights, such as the strip. Personally, this is overkill to me, I get having one gimmicky, flashy event at Miami, but two is a bit much, and there is a high chance, that after a few years both events quieten down, and fall apart, due to them competing with each other. If they want a third race in America that is fine, but go to Indianapolis or Road America, not a dull street track!
Helmut Marko has talked about how Sainz not being able to match Leclerc is actually hurting Red Bull, as it is allowing Charles to amass a large number of points, which may be hard for Verstappen to overcome. This is kind of like what Bottas or Perez did for their teammates. Finally, for F1, there will be 4 DRS zones at Melbourne this weekend, which seems a bit much, especially given they have already altered the track to help passing, I hope it isn’t too easy!
IndyCar
Harvey has been cleared to return to racing after his crash in Texas, this weekend at Long Beach. Looking at how smoothly Pagenaud has settled in at Meyer Shank, Jack needs to show some pace soon for RLL, if this move is to be seen as a success.
MotoGP
Marquez will return for the US Grand Prix this weekend, having had another bout of Diplopia. That being said, whether he will be back to full fitness is another question. He has an incredible record at Austin, yet with everything going on right now in his life, it is hard to say how he will fare.

On the eve of the new season, Jason Plato has confirmed that this will be his last season in the BTCC, having been there since 1997. His incredible career has made him one of the greats of the sport, with two titles, and a record 97 wins. For the final season, he has moved over to BTC Racing, joining Cook and Edwards. This was a team which scored wins last year, so the potential is there to leave on a high.
